I was off looking for something else completely (story of my life...) when I ran across the Renaissance Dyeing Dye Extracts page.

http://www.renaissancedyeing.com/store_dye-extracts/

Where you can buy natural dye extracts, all ready for use.

The cool part is that they have pictures of different fibers dyed with the extracts, wool, silk and LINEN!!! Woot! Finally! The linen is the fabric off to the right in the pictures.

Anyway, check out the beautifully rich colors that they get with the natural dyes, its just lovely to see it work.

A new linen fabric source

With DenverFabrics.com changing hands and becoming who knows what.... There goes the usual reliable source for nice 3.75-4 oz linen that isn't horrible quality.

But Wait! What's this? There's a new linen source in town, Gray Line linens, out of NYC, and boy do they have nice stuff!

Last week I ordered a couple of yards of their handkerchief linen in off white, $8 a yard. It is a really smooth tight weave, very supple and very little slubs. Its going to make a great new veil and probably a really nice fine apron and smock.

The best part, besides the good price per yard, no shipping charges on internet orders! :)

They do have other weights and colors available, as well as a really nice selection of natural linen colors and fancy types such as embroidered stuff.

Happy Shopping!
